As the morning hunt of December 14, 2006 entered the final stretch, two shooter 8-points decided to test my patience. Both were wall hangers and oblivious to my cedar ground blind 20-yards away. Thankfully my resolve held; twenty minutes later this beautiful 10-point made his way down the trail toward me. With all three shooter bucks standing within 20-yards, I struggled to remain calm. After filming them for a moment I quietly retrieved my Mathews Switchback bow and began to draw. The bow was so silent they never even flinched. The arrow flew and off they went!
I called Rick, who was also hunting that morning, and somehow through the tears of happiness was able to convey that I had just shot my trophy buck. We found the 136” Pope and Young about 75-yards away. That was an awesome morning hunt!
