I had a very interesting hunt. Several hours before the afternoon hunt, my hunting partner and I had to run about thirty buffalo out of the field that I wanted to hunt. A couple of hours later and after being in my tent for about forty-five minutes, I had two huge bull elk come into bow range. After getting out of my tent and pushing the bulls out of the area, I finally settled in for the last couple of hours of sunlight. At about 6:05 pm, the buck came into range and offered a broadside shot at thirty-seven yards. The arrow found its mark and we returned several hours later to retrieve the buck. I was excited to have taken my first bow buck; however, I wish he would have been as large as I thought he was on the hoof. Josh Rogers
