Thanks Buffalo Mountain Hunts and Rick & Tammy,
The Hunt:
I will never forget this hunt. I started at 5:00am on the last day of the season. I had movement since I sat down; first two elk at 7 yards in front of me, then three spikes. At around 5:30 I heard Rick’s truck driving down the road. I’m sitting in the tent at Sandy Field and Rick started his feeder- corning the road for me. Well I was hit by a barrage of corn. Surely I thought he was aiming at me, needless to say five minutes later deer started to feed on the corn. I got my bow ready and sat real still. About an hour later there were thirty deer feeding at my feeder. I was nervous and did not to move an inch. There were sixty eyes and ears to catch any flaws I had. There were three definite shooters 27 yards from me. Thanks to a fawn they spooked, inevitable with that many deer around, so I patiently waited and, what do you know, my buck walks out and started to feed broadside at 27 yards. I drew back and set my pin on him and struck him good – double lunged! I watched him fall at the edge of the field. I about came unglued. Tiger had nothing on my ‘fist pump’ that morning! A GREAT HUNT!!!
The Thanks:
This was my first buck with a bow and man what a thrill it was, Thank you. First off, Rick I have never met such an intelligent and witty man as you. Those big bucks out there are like your kids. You know where they are at all times. I have seen deer almost every time I’ve sat in a blind. Now how do I thank Tammy? She fed me well. Quesadilla’s, cake, and pudding, you name it. All blue ribbon winners! You guys mean a lot to the world of hunting as I know it, but beyond the woods you two are amazingly kind hearted. Being in the USAF I know freedom isn’t free. Never have I met finer folks who have such an appreciation for those who serve than you – Rick and Tammy! God speed and see you when I get back from Afghanistan to do it again. Justin Henry.
