Nature has very little that compares to the shrill bugle of a huge bull elk echoing off steep canyon walls. It’s a common sound on Buffalo Mountain Ranch in the fall as the bulls compete for their harem.
Buffalo Mountain Ranch feels like home to our elk herd with its deep canyons and rough, steep terrain coupled with large flats and mesas. Great browse, acorns, grass and wheat fields keep the herd healthy and the bulls producing great racks.
Limited hunts are available on our elk. We have rut hunts for bulls in Aug. and Sept. and late season bull and meat hunts in January. All legal weapons are allowed on these hunts. Several Large bulls are taken each year.
